Student Staffroom was initially triggered into existence on 2003 by our university's School Partnership Office closing the room  that used to contain maps, bus timetables, school prospectuses and sometimes other students' handy hints on travel etc relating to each school. So, a previously very useful resource disappeared and the void needed to be filled. An internet site was a fairly obvious choice, accessible to all (always needed when confined to your room at midnight planning for tomorrow) and capable of containing lots of information. There are no specific references to the university it has been initially aimed at, as this is a world wide web and there is no real reason why in the future ITT students can't contribute from all over the country.

Obviously, the site having started in 2003, the main caretakers of this website are now actual teachers, and don't have the same amount of time or contacts to dedicate to updating school information! For this reason, specific school information is no longer available but there are hopefully handy links where possible to Ofsted reports and school websites for students trying to find out about their placement schools.

The main aim of Student Staffroom now is to either provide or direct student teachers to useful resources.
