National Curriculum - Like the book, but more!

National Literacy Strategy - The NLS online, with planning sheets and resources.

National Numeracy Strategy - The NNS online, same as above!

DfES - if you don't know what it is by now, go find out! Includes SATs info on every school in country.

Standards - standards and effectiveness site of the DfES.

Trainee Teacher - there are more of us out there! fantastic site just for us, resources, advice and tips.

Teachernet - Set up by the DfES, for teachers. Links to lesson plans plus good info in general on teaching

Teachers.net - a U.S. site, so while not related to our NC it's still full of lesson plans, student teaching chatboard, printable resources and much more.

Ofsted - Office for Standards in Education. Reports on schools and publications.

TES - Times Educational Supplement online. Advice, jobs, news, resources, forums...

EducationGuardian - articles relating to all aspects of teaching, with careers, students, job fair, higher education sections etc.

TTA - the Teacher Training Agency

QTS tests (TTA) - go here to find downloadable practice tests, read up about them and then go here to register for the real ones! (only for people qualifying this academic year.)

QCA publications - where to search for and order all those booklets and information your lecturers talk about.

Education Guardian Interactive Guide - provides the latest official information on primary schools in England. You can view raw data on how the schools performed, see how they have improved, or otherwise against previous results (for all England's schools)

How do I get there?
Travel Coventry / West Midlands
- bus timetables and routes for Cov and West Midlands.

StageCoach buses - timetables for its Warwickshire routes, can also select other areas of the country.

BYTEachers - Page of the Association of Teaching Websites, all its members (who all have links on the site) have sites that contain high quality resources and materials for FREE, are built and maintained by teachers, and are comprehensive and user friendly.

Positively Mad - Personal Development and Accelerated Learning information, skills and strategies.

National Grid for Learning - gateway to educational resources on the internet.

Curriculum Online - The definitive catalogue for digital learning resources linked to the NC.

Infant Resources - Activity ideas and worksheets for Foundation/KS1 pupils. A clear and simple website for Infant teachers.

abcteach -   5000+ free printable pages and worksheets, and reports, activities and teaching extras.

Quality Teaching Resources - free worksheets and downloads

Worksheet factory - buy or design or download for free! many possibilities, a good resource.

Educate The Children - Zones for kids, parents and teachers. Jobs, competitions and more.

Teaching Ideas - came up top in a Google search for resources, contains all subjects including Early Years, Time Fillers and Foreign Languages. Has good links to other teaching sites.

Thinking Things from Snaith Primary - lots of history and geography topics + other interactive resources.

Top Marks - Lots of subjects, particularly maths resources - activities and worksheet generators. recommended by BYTEachers (see above).

Superkids Maths Worksheet Generator - select the type of problem, the maximum and minimum numbers to be used in the problems, then create!

Welcome to the Web - good interactive training on how to use the internet, for kids and adults.

School Assemblies and Assemblies - guess what these two have ideas for?!

Translation - translate phrases, words and web pages in English, French, German, Danish, Spanish, Finnish, Czech & Italian

Classics for young people - A growing number of children's literature classics are out of copyright, and are among the books available in full-text on the Internet.

Earth and Sky - Science site based on a US radio show for kids. 'Frequently asked questions' area is particularly good for fact-finding.

Individual Children
Pages for possible help, advice and information on conditions you may not have been taught about yet. Though it's always best to talk to your school about the individual cases, there's no harm in doing your own research.
